I Watched… (#31)

Army of Darkness (1992)

The final in Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead trilogy sees Ash (Bruce Campbell) transported back to medieval times, where he must retrieve the Necronomicon book and defeat an undead army to return to the present.

The old-world setting is a refreshing change from the log cabin and Bruce Campbell continues with his rich vein of form as the ruthless yet funny Ash, a store clerk forever tossed into nightmarish situations.

Fun, campy and still clutching the charm of the first two Evil Dead films – though with less in the horror and scares department – Army of Darkness is a worthy finale to a classic trilogy.
